Focus On Perseverance And Emotional Deposits

Dear Friends and Colleagues: How are YOU?

As we go through each week, we are having a lot of conversations with people in our network. What we’ve found is that we’re all going through the same thoughts and feelings. The common thread this week is that everyone feels depleted and drained. We all have emotional bank accounts and the constant conversations about current events, people’s social media feeds and the situations we’re all going through have started to wipe us out emotionally.

In anything that relates to life, it takes 7 positives to balance out 1 negative. When you think of the negativity we’ve been consuming lately, it’s no wonder we’re starting to feel out of balance.

Will you join us this week in making emotional deposits with your family, friends, colleagues and even yourself?

On the other side of a hefty positive emotional bank account is the ability to persevere. For every piece of negative information you see or hear this week, negate it by focusing on 7 things to be grateful for. Help balance out social media feeds by posting positivity. Send a note of encouragement or make a call to people in your network.

Let’s all share the ways we are making emotional deposits and persevering.

Be Safe, Be Well And Be Optimistic

It’s clear from our colleagues and friends that the last few weeks have been an emotional roller coaster and certainly unprecedented times in our industry. Many are feeling isolated, uneasy and overwhelmed while at the same time expressing empathy for our friends and optimism about what could come next. Our industry will never be the same, but that being said, take the steps to take care of your family and loved ones.

It’s time to prioritize our focus, strength and resilience.

This is a time to embrace the gift of time to spend on yourself, your loved ones and family, learning new skills, earning a certification, or expanding your knowledge in areas that will benefit you in the future. Chart a new course and uncover better and more innovative ways to invigorate the hospitality industry into recovery.

Most importantly, give yourself permission to Rest and Recharge. Spending time with yourself, your family and your friends and colleagues – that’s really the important stuff.

Be Strong and Be Kind, HPN Global is here for you.

Coronavirus Meeting Planner Update

Coronavirus Hotel Contracts

On Friday, March 27th, HPN Global CEO Bill Kilburg sat down with Regional VP Mark Dallman on Facebook LIVE to talk about the current state of the industry and have a conversation about Coronavirus and how it’s impacting hotel contracts.

Our Wish For You This Week

For the hospitality industry, last week was one for the history books. Although not one we care to revisit again soon. We saw so many of our colleagues and close friends on the receiving end of furloughs, unemployment, financial uncertainty and hotels closing their doors.

We all need to be two things during this time: Be Strong and Be Kind.

During times of uncertainty we need to embrace the shift, letting go of what we have known and how we have always done things. Uncertainty + Fear = Anxiety. We must learn to uncouple fear from uncertainty to evolve – to embrace the shift.

What we have done up until now is not what we will do in the future. We will evolve by finding new ways to partner and together we will thrive. If we accept the challenge of today and come together to find new ways of working, on the other side we will be stronger than ever before.

Our wish for you this week is that you focus on taking care of yourself and your family. Focus on your strength (you are stronger than you realize) and move through the week with kindness. On the road ahead, we will be refining our plans to support you and our HPN family along with strategies for our collective future success.

“With a warrior heart, square up your shoulders, keep your chin up and keep swinging.”

Be strong and be kind,

Bill Kilburg
